Inlet Therapies

inlet: a way to enter in

Just as an inlet offers a quiet passage from the vast, restless ocean into calmer waters, therapy can be a gentle entryway into deeper self-awareness, healing, and inner balance.

The mind and body are inseparable in the journey toward wholeness. Whether you're navigating emotional currents or seeking clarity amidst life's tides, I’m here to walk alongside you—offering a safe harbor for reflection, growth, and restoration.

I look forward to connecting with you. Let’s explore new ways to enter in—together.

Services

  • Talk Therapy is a safe, private space where you can talk with a trained professional about whatever’s on your mind. Whether you’re feeling stressed, anxious, sad, overwhelmed, or just need someone to talk to, talk therapy gets it all out of the head and heart, so you can let go.

In sessions, you’ll have the chance to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a supportive and non-judgmental environment. Your therapist listens carefully, provides helpful reflections, and works with you to better understand what you’re going through. Together, you’ll work toward finding new ways to cope, heal, and grow.

You don’t need to have a “big problem” to go to therapy. Many people come for support with:

    • Managing stress or anxiety

    • Coping with grief or life changes

    • Improving relationships

    • Building self-confidence

    • Making tough decisions

    • Healing from trauma

Everyone’s experience is different, and your therapist will tailor the process to fit you. Think of it as guided self-discovery and emotional support from someone who truly listens and cares.

  • ART is a type of therapy that helps you feel better by changing the way your brain stores painful or stressful memories or problems. It’s especially helpful for people dealing with trauma, anxiety, grief, or other tough experiences, but can truly work for any concern.

You'll move through a guided imagery process with your therapist using a relaxation technique called bilateral stimulation. “Bilateral” means “both sides.” During therapy, you might follow the therapist’s hand with your eyes as they move side to side, or you might hear sounds or feel gentle taps that alternate from your left side to your right side. This back-and-forth rhythm helps your brain feel more balanced and calm. Think of it like this: when you're stressed or stuck on a memory, your brain can feel like it's spinning in circles. Bilateral stimulation helps "unstick" those thoughts and gives your brain a chance to sort things out and feel more at peace. It’s gentle, relaxing, and many people say it helps them feel calmer, often faster than they expected. In ART, You begin focusing on the problem you want to solve, and then move toward shifting the imagery to be positive. Your brain starts to process and “re-code” the memory in a healthier way. If you don't want to have to talk about the problem you want to solve, you don't have to! No explanation or detail into your personal life is required in ART.

Most people are surprised at how quickly ART works. You’ll still remember what happened, but it won’t feel as upsetting or overwhelming anymore.

    ART is:

    • Fast-acting – Many people notice results in just a few sessions

    • Non-invasive – You don’t have to talk in detail about the trauma or problem

    • Safe and relaxing – It uses calming techniques to reduce stress

    • Effective – Backed by research for PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, and more

If you're looking for a way to feel better without reliving the pain, ART may be a powerful option for you.

  • Adolescent therapy is counseling specifically tailored to support teens and pre-teens as they navigate the challenges of growing up. The teenage years can be exciting, but also confusing, emotional, and sometimes overwhelming. Therapy gives adolescents a safe, non-judgmental space to talk, explore their feelings, and learn healthy ways to cope with life’s ups and downs.

In therapy, teens can open up about things like:

    • Stress at school or home

    • Friend and relationship issues

    • Anxiety or depression

    • Low self-esteem or self-doubt

    • Identity and self-exploration

    • Coping with big changes, trauma, or loss

A trained therapist helps teens understand what they’re feeling, why they’re feeling it, and how to manage emotions and situations in a healthier way. Sessions may include talking, creative activities, or tools like journaling or mindfulness, whatever works best for the teen.

Therapy also helps improve communication between teens and their parents or caregivers. While sessions are private, therapists may check in with parents (with the teen’s consent) to support growth and progress.

The goal? To help teens feel more confident, understood, and better equipped to handle life.

  • Sandtray therapy is a creative arts therapy, and a hands-on way to express thoughts and feelings, especially when words are hard to find. Using a tray filled with sand and a variety of small figures (like people, animals, trees, buildings, etc.), you create scenes or stories that reflect what's going on inside you. Then, you and your therapist process these scenes together.

It might sound simple, but it can be a powerful tool for healing. The sandtray becomes a safe space where you can explore emotions, work through trauma, or make sense of experiences in a non-verbal way.

Sandtray therapy may sound like it's for kids, but it’s used for all ages, and just as fun and helpful. You don’t need any artistic skills, just a willingness to explore. Your therapist will guide and support you through the process without judgment.

    It can help with:

    • Expressing feelings that are hard to put into words

    • Processing grief, trauma, or past experiences

    • Gaining insight into inner thoughts and patterns

    • Reducing anxiety and stress

Many people find sandtray therapy calming, surprising, and even enjoyable. Sometimes, your hands know what your heart needs to say, and sandtray helps bring that out.

  • Alpha-Stim is a small, handheld device that helps reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, insomnia, and pain, all without medication. It works by sending tiny, gentle electrical pulses to your brain through clips that attach to your earlobes. These pulses help your brain produce calming brainwaves, kind of like the ones you naturally create when you're very relaxed or meditating.

Sessions are painless, safe, and usually last about 20 to 40 minutes. Many people say they feel more relaxed and clear-headed after just one session.

Therapists may use Alpha-Stim during appointments in conjunction with any form of therapy you choose, or recommend it for home use, depending on your needs. It’s often used alongside therapy to enhance your progress and help you feel better faster.

    Alpha-Stim may help with:

    • Reducing anxiety and stress

    • Improving sleep

    • Easing symptoms of depression

    • Managing chronic pain

It’s FDA-cleared, well-researched, and has helped thousands of people feel calmer and more in control, naturally and gently.

  • Ear seeds are a gentle, non-invasive form of acupressure to support emotional and physical well-being.

Ear seeds are tiny seeds or beads (often made from natural materials or stainless steel) placed on specific pressure points on the outer ear. These points correspond to different areas of the body and mind, according to principles of auriculotherapy (ear-based acupressure, rooted in traditional Eastern medicines).

Once placed on the ear, the seeds apply light pressure to stimulate the points. Clients are encouraged to gently press on the seeds a few times a day to activate the calming and balancing effects. This technique is believed to help regulate the nervous system and support the body's natural ability to heal and rebalance itself.

Ear seeds can be a helpful supplement to mental health, particularly for:

    • Reducing anxiety and stress

    • Supporting emotional regulation

    • Improving sleep

    • Managing cravings or addiction recovery

    • Enhancing overall sense of calm and focus

They are especially useful for clients seeking holistic, mind-body approaches to wellness. The process is safe, needle-free, and quick, and it can be integrated into regular counseling sessions as an optional supportive tool.
